Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and release operational flight plans in compliance with UAE GCAA and international aviation regulations
  • Monitor and interpret real time weather conditions, SIGMETs, METARs, TAFs, and NOTAMs for safe flight planning
  • Perform accurate fuel calculations including contingency, alternate, holding, and operational reserves
  • Coordinate closely with pilots, cabin crew operations, ground handling teams, and air traffic control units
  • Ensure optimal routing for efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness while considering airspace restrictions
  • Track active flights and provide continuous operational support during all flight phases
  • Manage flight watch duties and escalate operational disruptions such as weather deviations, delays, or rerouting requirements
  • Ensure proper documentation of flight dispatch records, operational logs, and regulatory compliance reports
  • Support irregular operations (IROPs) including diversions, cancellations, and emergency response coordination
  • Maintain awareness of international airspace restrictions, airport operational limitations, and airline SOPs

Requirements

  • Valid Flight Dispatcher Licence issued by a recognized aviation authority (e.g., GCAA or equivalent ICAO compliant certification)
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in airline, charter, or flight operations control environment
  • Strong understanding of aviation meteorology, flight planning principles, and aircraft performance basics
  • Familiarity with flight planning systems and operational tools such as LIDO, Jeppesen, or equivalent software
  • Knowledge of UAE airspace regulations and ICAO operational standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment including shift rotations
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills with attention to safety critical details
  • Excellent communication skills for coordination with multiple operational stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy in calculations, documentation, and operational reporting
  • Ability to respond quickly to operational disruptions and changing flight conditions
