Key Responsibilities

  • Review Project Documents: Study drawings, BOQs, and specifications to understand scope, materials, labor, and equipment needs clearly.
  • Prepare Cost Estimates: Develop detailed cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontract scopes.
  • Quantity Take‑Offs: Measure and quantify materials and services accurately using estimation software and drawing review.
  • Budget Planning: Work with project teams to create budgets and cash flow forecasts for bidding and project delivery.
  • Market Research: Monitor material prices, labor rates, and industry trends to keep estimates competitive and realistic.
  • Coordinate Teams: Interface with design, procurement, and project managers to align cost plans with objectives.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain clear records of estimates, assumptions, revisions, and share reports with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–7 years estimating or cost planning in construction or related sectors.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Technical Competence: Skilled with cost estimation tools (CostX, Bluebeam), MS Excel, and take‑off software.
  • Project Controls: Able to plan estimating tasks, manage deadlines, and support bid schedules.
  • Leadership: Strong communicator able to guide junior estimators and collaborate with teams.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understand cost impacts on profit, value engineering, and project financial outcomes.
