Cost Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings, BOQ, and specifications to calculate the overall budget and support management to develop a cost baseline before execution.
- Continuously check the project’s spending and compare it with the approved budget to make sure the project does not go over cost, and implement corrective actions to control expenses.
- Identify budget risks, material consumption against BOQ, and wastage early, and be sure to inform management immediately for setting effective cost control strategies.
- Collect monthly project cost data, organize it, and maintain a cost tracking dashboard to professionally represent them to management.
- Compare supplier bids, contracts, and proposals to select the most cost-effective option in terms of price, quality, and overall value for the project.
- Use tools like Excel, Primavera P6, SAP, Oracle, and Power BI to track project costs, forecast future expenses, and monitor budgets for better financial control.
- Coordinate with project managers and team to efficiently use and manage project resources like labor, materials, equipment, and budget to reduce cost and avoid waste.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 2-5 years of working experience as a Cost Control Engineer or in a similar role.
- Excellent skills in analyzing financial data, cost estimation, and reporting.
- Proficiency in cost management software such as Primavera or SAP and MS Office.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with problem-solving ability.
- Good knowledge of project management and the UAE’s regulatory standards.
