Key Responsibilities

  • Own assigned tax projects and client files, coordinate with finance teams, act as primary tax contact for assigned engagements, understand reporting obligations, anticipate compliance risks, and ensure delivery of tax returns and reports within agreed deadlines and regulatory standards.
  • Drive project efficiency through preparation of VAT returns, corporate tax computations, reconciliations and supporting schedules, review documentation, ensure accuracy of calculations, and achieve monthly and quarterly filing and compliance targets set by management plus workload forecasting.
  • Collaborate with accounting, audit and advisory teams to translate financial data into clear tax submissions, track documentation requirements, and ensure timely, accurate filing with relevant authorities and approvals.
  • Monitor tax compliance status, analyse financial records and tax provisions, prepare weekly and monthly project reports with actionable recommendations for finance leads and internal stakeholders and regulatory update insights.
  • Manage documentation, tax working papers and statutory records, track submission deadlines, escalate discrepancies, and coordinate with finance to ensure accurate tax accruals, payments and reconciliation support.
  • Resolve tax-related queries promptly, coordinate internal departments and external advisors where required, propose practical compliance solutions, document findings, and follow up to prevent recurrence through review checks and root-cause analysis.
  • Represent the tax function during internal audits, attend client meetings as required, support regulatory reviews, and contribute to strengthening compliance standards and tax process improvements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years tax preparation, compliance or accounting experience in UAE markets, preferably within audit firms, consulting firms or corporate finance departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CTA or equivalent) preferred or relevant project-based tax experience.
  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks), tax filing portals and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Proven project controls: managing tax deadlines, preparing reconciliations, reviewing financial data accuracy, coordinating cross-functional inputs and ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism: supporting senior tax managers, contributing to audit discussions, and handling multiple project assignments with accuracy and accountability.
  • Strong technical acumen: tax regulations, VAT and corporate tax calculations, financial reporting standards, reconciliation processes and compliance performance indicators.
