Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments using advanced biotechnology techniques such as PCR, cell culture, and molecular assays while maintaining accuracy and safety standards.
- Analyse scientific data, interpret results, and prepare clear reports for project teams, research documentation, and publications.
- Maintain accurate lab records, document procedures, update databases, and organise samples in line with approved standards and protocols.
- Support R&D projects by working closely with scientists, engineers, and external partners to achieve research goals and project deadlines.
- Ensure all laboratory work follows health, safety, and ethical guidelines, including bioethics, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot experiments, improve research methods, recommend process improvements, and train junior lab assistants on key laboratory techniques.
- Present research findings in team meetings, workshops, or partner discussions to share insights and support future research decisions.
Requirements
- 3–8+ years of research experience in biotechnology, molecular biology, life sciences, or a related R&D role.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, or a related research discipline.
- Strong technical knowledge of laboratory techniques, including cell culture, PCR, sequencing, and bioinformatics tools.
- Good project management skills, with the ability to plan experiments, manage timelines, and deliver accurate results.
- Leadership experience in coordinating small research teams and guiding technical work.
- Ability to connect R&D outcomes with project objectives and support grant or funding proposals where required.
