Key Responsibilities
- As an Automotive Workshop Supervisor, you will oversee daily workshop operations and make sure jobs move through the workshop smoothly. This includes planning daily job allocation, monitoring bay usage, balancing scheduled services with diagnostics and urgent repairs, and ensuring work is completed on time and within agreed SLAs.
- You will lead, guide, and support the technician team. The role involves mentoring technicians, reviewing performance, conducting toolbox talks, managing shift handovers, enforcing SOPs, and making sure quality checklists are followed properly.
- The Workshop Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining technical standards across the workshop. You will review repair quality, carry out final checks on safety-critical jobs, ensure OEM procedures and service bulletins are followed, and confirm that vehicles are ready for customer handover with the right documentation in place.
- You will coordinate closely with parts stores, warranty teams, insurers, fleet customers, and external partners. When critical spares or urgent repairs are involved, you will help prioritize parts, validate warranty claims, follow up on approvals, and keep the process moving without unnecessary delays.
- The role also includes tracking workshop KPIs such as technician productivity, first-time fix rate, rework, and turnaround time. You will prepare weekly performance updates for management and take corrective action where results need improvement.
- As an Automotive Service Supervisor, you will help maintain a safe and organized workshop environment. This includes enforcing PPE rules, supporting high-voltage EV safety protocols, monitoring tool calibration, keeping equipment service schedules up to date, and ensuring the workshop meets regulatory and environmental standards.
- You will also support customer experience by reviewing complex complaints, helping service advisors with technical explanations, managing escalations, and contacting manufacturer technical support when needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Automotive Workshop Supervisor, Senior Technician, or in a similar workshop leadership role within a dealer group, independent workshop, or fleet-service environment.
- Vocational qualification in Automotive Technology, Vehicle Mechanics, or a related field. Manufacturer training, OEM supervisory courses, IMI or ASE credentials, or EV safety training will be an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, diagnostics, and workshop processes.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, service bulletins, diagnostic reports, and technical repair instructions.
- Experience using workshop management systems, DMS platforms, job card controls, KPI reporting tools, OEM diagnostic software, and basic test equipment.
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, rostering, and the ability to improve productivity without compromising quality or safety.
- Good communication skills in English for internal reporting, team coordination, and customer support. Arabic is helpful but not required.
- Willingness to work shift patterns and support occasional weekend or on-call duties when required.
