Key Responsibilities

  • As an Automotive Spare Parts Buyer, you will manage the full spare parts procurement cycle, from raising purchase orders and handling RFQs to negotiating supplier pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines. The goal is to make sure workshops and warranty teams receive the right parts on time.
  • You will forecast demand and manage stock levels by reviewing consumption patterns, lead times, and min/max inventory levels. This includes preparing replenishment plans that help reduce stockouts while avoiding unnecessary excess inventory.
  • The role also requires careful verification of part numbers and product quality. You will cross-check OEM and aftermarket references, review technical fitment details, follow incoming inspection procedures, and manage supplier warranty claims, returns, and replacements.
  • As a Spare Parts Buyer, you will build and maintain strong supplier relationships. This includes qualifying vendors, reviewing supplier performance, maintaining scorecards, negotiating framework agreements, and escalating service or quality issues when required.
  • You will coordinate logistics and parts movement by tracking shipments, expediting urgent spare parts, working with customs and clearance teams, and coordinating with stores to prioritize pick, pack, and dispatch for critical repairs.
  • The Automotive Parts Buyer will also support cost control and procurement compliance by reviewing supplier invoices against purchase orders, following procurement policies, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and assisting finance with accruals and reconciliations.
  • You will help improve systems and processes by maintaining accurate parts master data, including SKUs, BOM links, and catalogue information. The role may also involve ERP clean-up, audit support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of procurement or parts-buying experience within automotive dealer groups, independent workshops, or spare parts distributors, preferably covering both OEM and aftermarket parts.
  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Business, Automotive Technology, or a related field. Professional procurement training, such as CIPS, will be an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP and purchasing systems, with SAP or similar platform experience preferred. Confidence in Excel for forecasting, stock analysis, and inventory reporting is also important.
  • Good understanding of part-number cross-referencing tools, technical verification, supplier comparison, and fitment accuracy.
  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and attention to detail, especially when reviewing supplier performance, warranties, claims, and pricing.
  • Clear communication skills in English for supplier coordination and internal follow-up. Arabic will be an added advantage, especially when dealing with local suppliers.
  • Ability to work under operational pressure, handle urgent spare parts requests, and support workshop needs without delays.
  • Willingness to work rota or shift patterns, with occasional weekend or on-call support when required.
