Power Plant Operator

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
• Participate in plant start-up and commissioning activities, raise punch list items and warranty claims as appropriate.
• Attend training program sessions. Learn, support, and assist in the continuous improvement of HSSEQ policies and procedures.
• Take appropriate actions in coordination with Control Room Operators and the Shift Supervisor in case of an emergency.
• Receive firefighting training based on the firefighting and emergency training program and act as per the role assigned in the Emergency Response Plan.
• Perform regular rounds for the monitoring of equipment condition, recording operational data, reporting abnormalities, and taking actions as required.
• Perform isolation/preparation and later normalization of equipment for maintenance activities, in line with PTW and LOTO procedures.

Requirements:

•  A bachelor’s degree in engineering is recommended.
• 2+ years of experience in power plant operations, specifically within thermal or desalination industries.
• Proficiency in operating control systems (DCS/SCADA) and a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts (8 or 12 hours), including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication for team coordination
• English proficiency, both written and verbal, is essential.
