12 Offices Closed in UAE After Authorities Uncover 300 Violations

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has shut down 12 offices found to be illegally recruiting domestic workers without the required licenses. They referred their cases to the public prosecution in coordination with economic development authorities nationwide.

This was a kind of reminder that offices that violate legal or administrative regulations are not tolerated. The action reaffirmed the field’s readiness and the effectiveness of smart inspection systems that address violations with firmness and transparency.

A Crackdown against Illegal Recruitment Practices

The ministry also revealed that it detected 300 violations committed by 57 licensed domestic worker recruitment offices during 2025, underscoring a broad enforcement drive against breaches in the sector.

The official press conference from the ministry stated that it would not tolerate legal or administrative breaches, with a focus on its inspection and monitoring systems. They said that both their field-based and digital inspections were fully equipped to regulate the sector and address malfunctions firmly.

A Failure to Refund Fees and A License Violation

The ministry confirmed that most of the violations that were recorded last year were due to the recruitment officers who failed to refund all or part of the recruitment fees. According to their signed agreement, they had to return the amount within the specified two-week period, either from the date of the domestic worker’s return to the office.

Another violation that was reported included failure to display the Ministry-approved service package prices clearly for customers, and recruiting workers without permission or practicing recruitment activities without an approved license.

A Strict Action against 230 Social Media Accounts

Additionally, earlier in February, the UAE newspapers and social media channels confirmed the report of the closure of 230 social media accounts. This action took place due to the promotion of unlicensed domestic worker recruitment services.

All these accounts were closed and reported once it was found that the owners had not obtained the necessary license from the ministry. The report also confirmed neither was affiliated with any licensed recruitment offices that had the authority to practice recruiting the category of workers.

Check the Authenticity before Signing an Agreement

Therefore, authorities request customers to deal only with the licensed domestic worker recruitment offices, which are almost 136 centers in the region. The Ministry has set an official number that can be used to report any negative practices.

They can follow the official channels and contact 80084 or 600590000. Additionally, the customers should verify the credibility of service providers that are advertising on social media platforms before they sign any agreement.

Conclusion

The recruitment process of domestic workers in the UAE is governed by specific laws that are designed to protect the rights of both employees and employers. Regular inspections are conducted by authorities to monitor compliance in the sector. This action ensures that the service providers are following a licensed channel that is meant to establish legal and ethical standards.
