Aviation Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Safety Manager in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Participate in occurrence reporting, investigation, and root-cause analysis, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain safety risk assessments and ensure compliance with EASA and IOSA standards.
• Assist in the development of Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) and monitoring of alert levels for flight operations.
• Coordinate with Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Maintenance & Engineering, and CAMO to evaluate risk controls and operational interfaces.
• Support safety promotion and training initiatives across all operational areas to strengthen the organization’s safety culture.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the aviation industry, including aviation auditing, is required. Knowledge of WFP procedures and operations is an asset.
• Holds or has held a Commercial Pilot License, Aviation Engineering License, or Air Traffic Control License (or equivalent).
• Either successfully completing an Aviation Safety Management course or an additional Accident Prevention & Investigation qualification is preferable.
• English at level C is compulsory, while other levels have an edge.
• The WTP leadership framework is essential as it guides the common standards of behavior of working together to accomplish missions.
• Focused on enhancing organizational safety performance and learning from occurrences, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
