Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed mechanical, electrical, and structural inspections of vehicles to identify issues, including engine systems, braking components, suspension, tires, steering, and electrical systems.
- Use advanced tools like diagnostic scanners, automotive software, and computerized inspection equipment to identify hidden mechanical and electrical faults, and analyze system performance.
- Review inspection results before final report to determine whether a vehicle meets the required standards of the UAE government, RTA, and ADQCC safety regulations, approve if it is a roadworthy vehicle, or reject if there are any critical defects.
- Review total loss claims and vehicle auction histories, conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new vehicles before delivery, and ensure all components, systems, and safety features perform accurately.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports with recommendations, outlining findings, defects, and recommendations; maintain records for audits, and clearly communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify vehicles that did not pass inspections, and recommend necessary repairs or improvements, in conjunction with the team leader for complex findings.
- Maintain vehicle owners’ engagement to share information about inspections, technical issues that were resolved, and counsel them on necessary repairs or maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Technical Engineering, or relevant diplomas, NEBOSH or IOSH certification in occupational health and safety.
- 2-5 years of experience working as a vehicle inspection engineer in automotive industry, also familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures.
- A valid UAE driving license with a clean record of safe driving, a Valid RTA-VCT (Vehicle Component Testing) Work Permit.
- Proven expertise in checking vehicles, performing safety audits, and finding mechanical or electrical issues
- Ability to prepare clear inspection reports, record vehicle conditions accurately, and analyze safety or technical problems to suggest necessary corrective actions.
- Professional skills of communication with clients and teams, with a full grip on English and Arabic vocabulary.
