Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Develop detailed estimates for new projects, change orders, and variations, ensuring alignment with project budgets and client requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to clarify project requirements, confirm assumptions, and incorporate site conditions into estimates.
- Monitor and update estimates based on revisions, market rates, supplier quotes, and subcontractor pricing, preparing weekly and monthly cost reports with actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Manage documentation of estimates, bids, and cost analysis, ensuring compliance with company standards, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve discrepancies or queries related to cost estimates, provide recommendations for cost optimization, and maintain detailed records of calculations and assumptions.
- Represent the company in pre-bid meetings, support tender submissions, and liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to strengthen project delivery and market reputation.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in construction estimating in UAE markets, preferably in commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field; professional estimating certifications preferred or equivalent experience.
- Proficient with construction estimating software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Excel, CostX) and reporting tools for cost analysis and budget tracking.
- Proven project controls: preparing accurate estimates, managing revisions, coordinating with multiple teams, and mitigating cost risks.
- Demonstrated attention to detail: reviewing drawings, validating material and labor quantities, and ensuring accuracy in cost projections.
- Strong commercial and analytical acumen: cost forecasting, bid preparation, supplier negotiation, and value engineering skills.
