Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Cost Consultancy Services: Provide professional advice on cost planning, estimating, BOQ preparation and commercial strategy for client projects from start to finish.
  • Contract & Commercial Management: Administer FIDIC or other construction contracts, manage variations, change control and contractual correspondence.
  • Prepare Reports: Produce clear cost reports, forecasts, risk registers and budget analyses to support client decision‑making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, contractors, engineers and authorities to ensure smooth project communication.
  • Tendering Support: Assist with tender documentation, bid evaluation and recommendations in line with best practice.
  • Mentor Junior Staff: Coach and develop junior QS team members, sharing best practices and supporting career progression.
  • Risk & Value Management: Identify commercial risks, propose improvements and support value engineering throughout project life‑cycle.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years in quantity surveying or cost consultancy, with major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
  • Technical Competence: Proficient with MRICS/CIOB standards, cost measurement methods (POMI/NRM/CESSM) and QS software like CostX.
  • Project Controls: Able to plan, prioritise and deliver commercial outputs within timetable and client expectations.
  • Leadership: Excellent communication, negotiation and team mentoring skills required.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of contracts, market rates, procurement and cost optimisation strategy.
