Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare MEP BOQs: Produce detailed Bills of Quantities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related systems from drawings and specifications.
  • Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Estimate materials, labor, and subcontractor costs to develop budgets aligned with client and project requirements.
  • Tender & Procurement Support: Compile MEP tender documentation, evaluate supplier/sub‑contractor bids, and advise on commercial selection.
  • Contract Administration: Assist with contracts, review conditions, manage variations, and track compliance throughout the MEP scope.
  • Cost Control & Reporting: Monitor project costs against budgets, produce cost reports and flag potential overruns to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Across Teams: Liaise with engineers, site teams, procurement and design disciplines to ensure accurate cost planning.
  • Payment Certificates & Valuations: Prepare interim payment certificates, valuation reports and verify subcontractor invoices for MEP works.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4–8 years’ MEP quantity surveying experience with demonstrated UAE or GCC project involvement.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Technical Competence: Strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, fire, ELV, plumbing) and cost management software.
  • Project Controls: Ability to plan QS tasks, manage take‑offs, and meet cost reporting deadlines.
  • Leadership: Effective communicator with negotiation skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understand commercial risks, contract terms, and how costs affect project profitability.
