Manager Defence Engineering (Identity)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead defence engineering strategy: Plan, develop and implement cybersecurity defence capabilities aligned with business and risk needs for robust system protection.
•  Oversee identity platforms: Build and govern identity and access governance systems for enterprise applications on cloud and on‑premise.
• Manage capability development: Guide the day‑to‑day delivery of security engineering work to minimize downtime and security impact.
• Assess and improve systems: Evaluate defence platforms through testing and optimisation to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Enforce security measures: Develop and implement security policies, procedures and controls to protect infrastructure and sensitive data.
• Build partnerships: Maintain strong relationships with technology providers and stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets requirements.
• Lead and mentor teams: Guide global security engineering teams, fostering collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 10 years in cybersecurity with leadership of large engineering teams.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Technical Competence: Deep expertise in identity and access management (IAM) engineering and governance technologies.
• Project Controls: Proven ability to manage complex security projects, timelines and deliverables reliably.
• Leadership Support: Experience directing engineers and fostering performance across distributed teams.
• Commercial Acumen: Understand budget oversight, cost‑effective security solutions and risk impact.
