Key Responsibilities

  • Design secure architectures: Create and govern security architectures for defence systems, networks and mission platforms aligned with strategy and standards.
  • Develop security frameworks: Build comprehensive security frameworks and reference models to support resilient mission operations.
  • Assess threats and risks: Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments and integrate findings into secure designs.
  • Define system requirements: Set security requirements for C4ISR, secure communications and operational systems.
  • Ensure policy compliance: Govern implementation to ensure solutions meet defence policies and classification standards.
  • Guide teams: Provide expert guidance to engineering and operational teams on secure design and assurance principles.
  • Monitor emerging threats: Stay informed on new defence technologies and threat trends for future-proof architectures.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years in security architecture within defence, national security or mission-critical systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Information Assurance or related discipline.
  • Technical Competence: Expert in secure system design, threat modeling and defence frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO).
  • Project Controls: Proven skill in planning, tracking and managing complex architecture tasks with precision.
  • Leadership Support: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor technical staff on secure design.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understand risk impacts, cost implications and capability trade-offs in secure systems.
