Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Database Health: Watch database performance, find slow queries, and fix issues to keep systems fast and reliable.
  • Backup & Recovery: Plan and run regular backups, test recovery steps, and ensure data can be restored quickly after failure.
  • Security Enforcement: Set up access controls, encryption, and rules that keep data safe from unauthorized use or attacks.
  • Performance Tuning: Adjust database settings, optimize queries, and reorganize structures for better speed and stability.
  • Support Teams: Work with developers and IT staff to meet data needs and resolve database questions or incidents.
  • Database Upgrades: Apply patches, update versions, and manage migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Documentation & Standards: Write clear guides on database configs, processes, and best practices for team sharing.

  • Experience: 3–6 years in database admin roles with real performance and backup work.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong with SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Project Controls: Able to plan tasks and finish database support work on schedule.
  • Leadership: Can guide junior DBAs and coordinate with other teams smoothly.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understand business data risks and protect systems in line with goals.
