Key Responsibilities

  • Develop planning strategies and plans: Create, review and refine city, regional and master plans that support sustainable development goals and land-use objectives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies: Analyse site conditions, economic, environmental and social factors to inform planning recommendations and decisions.
  • Coordinate with authorities: Work with government agencies, municipal planners and developers to ensure plans meet regulations and gain approvals.
  • Prepare reports and presentations: Produce clear technical documents, maps and visuals for stakeholders, boards and public consultations.
  • Support zoning and land-use policy: Interpret and apply land-use laws, zoning codes, urban design standards and development policies.
  • Use planning software: Apply GIS, AutoCAD, spatial and modelling tools to analyse data and visualise plans.
  • Engage stakeholders: Facilitate meetings with communities, developers and officials to gather feedback and build consensus.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–7 years in urban or regional planning, master planning, zoning or municipal projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography or related field.
  • Technical Competence: Proficient in GIS, AutoCAD, mapping and planning software tools.
  • Project Controls: Able to manage tasks, timelines and deliverables effectively and independently.
  • Leadership Support: Works well with multidisciplinary teams and supports senior planners.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understands development economics, infrastructure cost impacts and policy implications.
