Key Responsibilities
- As an Automotive Electrician, you will support component and system design by reviewing technical drawings, CAD models, BOMs, tolerance requirements, materials, and manufacturing methods. You will help translate vehicle requirements into clear engineering and electrical deliverables.
- You will assist with simulations, analysis, and testing activities, including thermal, durability, NVH, and related CAE-based evaluations. Where needed, the role will also involve supporting prototype development and helping validate design improvements.
- The Auto Electrician will help create and carry out test plans for bench, dyno, track, and road testing. This includes preparing test procedures, collecting data, reviewing results, and confirming that systems meet functional, durability, and regulatory requirements.
- You will work closely with controls engineers on ECU requirements, control logic test cases, MATLAB/Simulink activities, HIL testing, and vehicle-level calibration support. This is especially important for modern vehicles and EV powertrain systems.
- The role also includes maintaining test reports, non-conformance records, corrective action logs, and validation documents. As an Automotive Electrical Technician, you will support PPAP, FTA, and product sign-off activities to help prepare systems for production release.
- You will coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams by reviewing drawings, checking test evidence, supporting NPI handovers, and helping resolve production issues that affect quality, output, or system reliability.
- The Vehicle Electrician will also support fault analysis and continuous improvement. This includes investigating field failures, assisting with root-cause analysis, recommending design or process changes, and feeding practical learnings back into design standards and DFMEA.
- You will prepare and maintain technical documentation, present updates to internal stakeholders, support service bulletins and user manuals, and assist with homologation or regulatory submissions when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive electrical systems, product development, test and validation, or production support, preferably with exposure to passenger vehicles or EV powertrains.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline. Additional training in vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, electrical diagnostics, or controls will be an advantage.
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA, along with CAE tools for FEA, thermal, or NVH-related work.
- Practical knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, data acquisition systems, vehicle testing tools, and basic scripting for data analysis.
- Hands-on understanding of vehicle systems, including suspension, brakes, transmissions, electrical architecture, wiring, ECU interfaces, and powertrain systems.
- Familiarity with vehicle-level testing protocols, dyno testing, road test instrumentation, DFMEA, design reviews, PPAP, and structured engineering documentation.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, supplier, and quality teams.
- Flexibility to support test campaigns, factory activities, production troubleshooting, and occasional travel to supplier or project sites.
